Anti-Oppressive Advocacy: Cohort II (One-Time Payment)

Anti-Oppressive Advocacy: Cohort II (One-Time Payment)

$1,500.00
This online course is designed to offer an in-depth exploration into race, culture, anti-oppressive service provision, and professional accountability as we unravel the components of the anti-violence field that are steeped in white supremacy and anti-Blackness. This six-month reimagining is the instructor’s evidence-based, practice-informed framework that examines service provision at the intersection of bias and efficiency and reseats pertinent narratives erased in an attempt to sustain the construct of whiteness as a commodity.
This course will center Black and POC scholars and historical texts to draw comparison between the construction of race in America and the construction of power within the anti-violence field. Learners will be able to map messages of racial value to methods utilized within the field to sustain structures that limit Black leadership and equitable care for Black survivorship. With the goal of unraveling anti-Black rhetoric and harmful (but normalized) service provision for the purpose of delivering advocacy that isn’t already steeped in oppression, this course will support anti-violence professionals of privilege in shifting from a non-racist/cultural competent lens to an anti-racist/anti-oppressive one.

Early Bird offer expires May 17, 2021.
